This application will update Font Fetch 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 to Version 1.5. Always update a * COPY * of the original Font Fetch XTensions™ software - NEVER update any files that reside on your original LOCKED Font Fetch diskette.
Requirements
Font Fetch 1.5 requires Suitcase 3.0.1 (If you have Suitcase 3.0, you must update Suitcase to 3.0.1 to use this version of Font Fetch. An updater for Suitcase is available at http://www.nrgsoft.com/files, Symatec's FTP site at FTP://ftp.symantec.com, or by phone from Symantec at 800-441-7234 in the USA & Canada) and QuarkXPress™ 3.31 or greater. MacOS System 7.5 is also recommended. Font Fetch is incompatible with SuperATM's font substitution, as it renders missing fonts automatically.

Preferences
When Font Fetch is loaded and QuarkXPress is running, Font Fetch is added to the “Preferences” sub-menu under the “Edit” menu. The following controls allow you to customize how Font Fetch operates.
Quit Suitcase after opening fonts
With this option checked, Font Fetch will only open Suitcase when needed. After if has finished opening the missing fonts it will close the Suitcase application.
If this option is not selected, Font Fetch opens Suitcase the first time it is needed and leaves it open until the user selects the Quit Suitcase option or manually quits the application.
Disable Font Fetch
By disabling Font Fetch, the user turns off the ability to have Font Fetch automatically open missing fonts. This feature allows a user to turn Font Fetch off and on without quitting QuarkXPress and removing Font Fetch. In this mode the user will still be notified of missing fonts and will have the ability to replace any of those displayed.
Disable Font Replacement
This feature allows users to turn off the replace functionality. With the replace option disabled, Font Fetch opens missing fonts at a drastically increased speed, however, it loses the ability to determine if a missing font exists more than one time in Suitcase. It will open the first occurrence it finds. If there are fonts that are unknown to Suitcase, the user will be advised to check “Font Usage.”
Close opened fonts upon quitting
This option allows the user the ability to control what happens to the fonts that were opened by Font Fetch. With this feature selected, Font Fetch will close every font that it opened when the user quits QuarkXPress.
If you leave this option unchecked, the fonts that Font Fetch opened while using QuarkXPress will remain open on the system until you restart your machine or you manually close them.
Open fonts within EPS images
This preference allows the user the ability to control how Font Fetch deals with files which contain EPS images. By selecting this option Font Fetch will scan all printed pages only for EPS images which contain missing postscript fonts. If it finds missing fonts they will be opening automatically before the printing process.
By leaving this option unchecked, Font Fetch will ignore scanning formissing fonts in EPS images and QuarkXPress will function as it normally did in the past.
